Hong Kong - Tonnochi Road

As you go up the steps at the other end of the tunnel a member of the Luminous Path comes to talk to you. Keep going West along Tonnochi Road until you see the Queens Tower luxury suites on your left. Go inside and look at the datacube on the front desk. Go to the right and you will find a room behind the front desk which contains a chit for 50 credits. Also use the security computer terminal to switch off the cameras and unlock and open the door. Leave the room and go left. Press the switch to call the lift. When it arrives step inside and press the button to travel upwards. The maid will escort you to Maggie Chow. After speaking to Maggie Chow, go back down the lift and leave the Queens Tower. Get back to the canal.

Get to the East door to the police station. Use the code from a datavault a while back to enter. The Chinese military police officer sitting in a chair to the right of this door is already considered to be your enemy before he even sees you, so kill him. See the datacube on the table. The alarm will likely be set off so hide until it is over (a good hiding place is the dark area to the South where there is a ladder. Now open the door to the North by pressing the button and kill the unfriendly Chinese military police officer behind it. Read the datacube here and access the security computer terminal to switch off all the cameras. Use the code that Maggie Chow gave you to bypass the security keypad and go down the ladder into the police vault. You get 40 skill points for this. There are another 2 datacubes in here as well as 12 Sabot rounds, 12 plasma rounds and 1 LAM. Leave the police station and return to the canals. The rest of the Chinese military police are no longer enemies so leave them alone.

Get back to the Queens Tower luxury suites on Tonnochi Road and take the lift up to Maggie Chow’s apartment again.

The maid will tell you Maggie is no longer here and will call the guards. Kill the maid and then hide in the lift before the guards can shoot at you. When the guards have given up searching for you exit the lift and go through to the room where you had previously met Maggie Chow (you should crawl or the guards may hear you). Go up the staircase and search the 3 rooms leading off the corridor on the upper level. One contains a datacube, another has a chit for 100 credits and the last has 2 datacubes and a security computer terminal which you should hack to deactivate the cameras and open and unlock the door. Go down the stairs again and find the room to the East of the lift that you used to enter the apartment. You will see that there is a secret door which is now open in the corner of this room (if it isn’t open, find the lantern and ‘use’ it - this will open the door):

Crawl through the corridor to the room at the far end and you will get 50 skill points. Read the datacube on the far wall and hack the personal computer terminal, choosing to open the weapon case. When the case has opened you get 200 skill points. Drop your sword and all of your 15 medkits in order to pick up the dragon's tooth sword. You can listen to a message for Maggie Chow left by Walton Simons by pressing the button next to the holographic communications device in this room. Use a plant from the apartment to block the red lasers leading off the corridor you just came through:

Hide in the lift while the guards look for you. After they have returned to their posts crawl past the recently blocked lasers and you will see some stairs leading up and some more leading down. Run down the stairs and kill the MJ12 trooper who is standing there before he has a chance to alert the other guards (you should be using the dragon’s tooth sword as your primary weapon now). Get back up to the level where the dragon’s tooth sword was and now focus on the room containing 4 MJ12 troopers. The new sword will let you kill them with a single strike even if they are already aware of your presence. Run into the room and kill the nearest trooper (the one facing towards you), then run out to the lift and hide again. This is possible without the others even taking a shot at you. Now do the same for the other 3 (easier because they are all facing away from your entry points into the room). You can take 2 +/- 2 tranquilizer darts from one of them and 6 +/- 6 plasma rounds from another. Take 50 credits from the table and then notice the locked cabinet in the corner of the room. You can open this by activating your combat strength augmentation briefly whilst striking the cabinet with the dragon’s tooth sword.

You can use the dragon’s tooth sword to open the vast majority of locked boxes, lockers, doors etc. All you need to do is temporarily activate the combat strength augmentation as you hit the object with the sword. By activating the augmentation and then deactivating it as soon as possible it is effectively possible to use this method using up a negligible amount of your bioelectric energy. So from now on if I tell you to break open a locked object I will generally mean that you should use the dragon’s tooth sword to do so and use the combat strength augmentation as well if the sword alone isn’t enough.

Inside the cabinet you will find 12 Sabot rounds, 20mm HE ammo, and a clip weapon modification which you should apply to your sniper rifle. You no longer have to be concerned about setting off the alarm here since you have taken care of all the MJ12 troopers in the area. Go down the stairs past where you killed the first trooper. Go through the lasers, open the door with the switch and get out onto floor 7. Don’t give the junkie any money if she asks for some. There is a datacube in here. Now go back up the stairs and up the next stairs as well. Open the door and go through to find yourself on the roof above Maggie Chow’s apartment. Go through the door next to the one you just came from and climb down the ladder so that you are standing on top of the lift. This gets you 50 skill points. Climb back out and then press the button to send the lift down. Climb all the way down the ladder, ignoring the possible turning to the left. At one point the ladder will stop and below it will be wire mesh. You can still climb on this so keep going down until you are on top of the lift again. To the side you will see 2 ladders. Go down the one which is furthest from you. Follow the path round until you come out behind the Chinese military bot. Get back onto Tonnochi Road. Now that you have the dragon’s tooth sword you can open some of the locked items which you were not able to earlier. Leave Tonnochi Road by heading to the canal.

Return to the boat where you found the repair bot. In the secret area there was a locked box. Smash it open and also break open the cardboard boxes inside. In total you will be able to take 450 credits. Now swim West to the barge in the water and use the ladder on the side to climb onto it. Break open the hatch to give you access to the hull. Use your environmental protection augmentation as you search the hull. From the crates you can take 12 plasma rounds. Get out of the hull and use regeneration to recover your health again. There is a covered canal running South from here and you will notice a passage leading off from the West side of it near the barge. Swim over there and go along the passage. Climb the ladder and press the switch to come out above the canal. Head East and you will overhear some dodgy characters discussing drugs in a dark alley to your right. After you listen for long enough they will attack you. Kill both the drug dealer and the pusher. Return to the repair bot to get your bioelectric energy to 100% before continuing to the market.

When you reach the entrance to the Lucky Money Club do not pay for your entrance and also do not pay to let the two Australian girls in either. Instead use the dragon’s tooth sword to break the chairs that these girls are sitting on. This will force them to stand up. They will wander randomly now. Hopefully one of them will walk towards the door to the club, opening it for you to go through as well. If they walk in the other direction you can physically get in their way to make them change direction, thus effectively guiding them towards the door to the club. It is best to do this with Tessa otherwise you will constantly start the same conversation over and over again with Mercedes. When you enter the club you will get 100 skill points. Go up one of the staircases to the second level and take the 25 credits from behind the bar. Walk through the passage which leads behind the bar, go down the stairs and then through the unlocked door (don’t bother with the locked door to the freezer). Max Chen is in the adjoining room on your left. After you have spoken to Max Chen there will be an MJ12 raid on the club so you must be prepared beforehand. Equip yourself with the dragon’s tooth sword and also activate your speed augmentation and then speak to Max Chen. You are awarded 150 skill points after the conversation.

As soon as the conversation is over run back to the conference room and kill the MJ12 commando who has just spawned there. Smash through the glass on the left and kill one of the 2 MJ12 commandos who were standing next to it as you run past them. The Red Arrow members can deal with the other one. Immediately run up the spiral staircase where you will find another MJ12 commando terrorising the civilians to the South. Kill him. It is possible to get to this stage without any of the civilians or the Red Arrow members having been killed. Of course it doesn’t really matter if they die, but it is nice to save the innocent! There is one more MJ12 commando waiting for you outside the club. Once you leave through the exit he won’t start to shoot at you (or anyone else) until he has reached the door to the club. Make sure he has his attention focused on you, as opposed to other friendly characters, and lure him to the Quick Stop storefront (the one that is locked, before you reach the Chinese military police). Try to have him fire rockets at you while you are standing by the store, dodge them and these will shatter the glass - this is to ensure that it is not you who breaks into the store. Meanwhile the police should start fighting him. You will discover that despite the fact that the commando broke the glass, the police will turn on you as well anyway. Kill whoever remains of the 4 Chinese military police and the MJ12 commando. You will most likely need to use your regeneration augmentation during this battle. If you managed all of that then well done because it is very tricky! This is the only way I have found to do this section without letting any civilians die, not using any ammo or credits and without being the one to break into the store.

Now that the threat has been neutralised you can return to the Lucky Money Club. Go to the conference room behind the broken mirrors and use the security computer terminal on the table to switch off the cameras and open and unlock the door. Climb the staircase to the second level and go through the passage to the Southeast. You will come out where the door girl was. Here you will find a secure container (the one that you just opened with the security computer terminal) containing 200 credits. Now leave the club and go to the Quick Stop store. Use the security computer terminal to deactivate the cameras and then hack the ATM from which you can take 300 credits. Go behind the counter and you will get 64 skill points. You should see a locked door on the wall here. Smash it open and take the 200 credits from inside. Leave the mall area by getting back out to the market.

Speak with Gordon Quick once again who is still standing guard by the entrance to the Luminous Path compound by the temple. Use the code he gives you to enter the compound. This will get you 200 skill points. Go to the Southwest of the compound. You will find 25 credits lying in front of a Buddha. Go up the steps to the North and through the door ahead of you. Go down the steps on the right and through the next door. Walk along the corridor until you reach the spa. On the North wall there is a painting with a keypad next to it. Use the same code as for the compound entrance to bypass it. The painting will move aside to reveal a secret passage. Walk along the passage and you will get to Tracer Tong’s laboratory.

There is a button on the West wall which must be pressed to open a secret door revealing Tong himself on the other side. Speak to Tracer Tong and you will get 200 skill points for finding him. Pick up the nanokey and 100 credits from the table and then go through the door ahead of you opposite the one you entered from. Turn left and continue until you reach the operating theatre. Stand on the yellow spot in the centre until the procedure has finished. In the corridor you just came from take the first right. There is a medical bot here which you can use if necessary. Walk through this room to the one beyond it where you will find Alex Jacobson. Speak to him and then go up the stairs to the walkway around the room. At the end of it you will find a cabinet containing 12 plasma rounds. Get back to the corridor and walk along it to the other end where there is a shooting range. You can take some 20mm HE ammo and 12 Sabot rounds from here. Also drop your GEP gun temporarily, pick up the plasma gun to get an additional 12 plasma rounds and then switch the plasma gun for the GEP gun again. One of the crates has a clip weapon modification inside which you should use on your pistol. Press the button by the door and go through. There is 1 LAM in the crate here. Press the next button to enter the last room where there is a repair bot for you to replenish your energy. There are also 4 tranquilizer darts here. Go back to where Tracer Tong is waiting for you and speak with him. He will provide you with your next objective. Now leave the Luminous Path compound.

Opposite the Queens Tower is a lift. Press the button to summon it and then travel upwards. Use the stairs to go up 2 more levels. You can use your nanokey to open the door that you find there. This is Jock’s apartment. There is a datacube and a nanokey here. There are 2 hidden doors in the walls. Through one of them is Jock’s bedroom. In the adjoining room on a shelf you will find 12 Sabot rounds. Leave the apartment and return to the canal.

Get to the entrance to the Versa Life corporation which can be found in the market halfway down the stairs that lead to the Lucky Money Club.
