Climb down the ladder from the roof and enter Paul’s apartment through the window.

NYC - ‘Ton Hotel

Speak to Paul who is sitting in a chair in the main room of the apartment (twice if you want). While you are here, check the secret place behind the bookshelf (the code behind the painting is the same as before). The datacube is one that you have already seen, but the new item is an augmentation upgrade. Use this to increase your combat strength augmentation level up to 3. Exit the apartment through the window again.

NYC - Hell’s Kitchen

Go to the archway where you previously had helped Sandra Renton. There is a datacube hidden amongst some boxes there. Now enter the Underworld Tavern via the rear entrance.

NYC - Underworld Tavern

Speak to Jordan Shea 3 times (but don’t buy anything from her). Go over to the ATM machines and hack one of them to withdraw 232 credits. Don’t hack the second ATM. Leave the tavern using the front entrance this time.

NYC - Hell’s Kitchen

Find the girl standing by the blocked off subway entrance. She will tell you some more about JoJo. If you go over to the nearby steps where you had previously found some bodies, you will see 2 bioelectric cells. One is on the ground at the bottom of the steps leading down, whereas the other is on a ledge next to the steps which lead up. Walk past the basketball court to the area in which there are 2 storage containers. These can be opened using darts as before. One of them contains 2 crates and 1 bioelectric cell, however you don’t need the contents of the crates. Get back out to the street and find the sewer hatch near the subway entrance. Go down into the sewers.

NYC - New York Sewers

Get past the lasers (it is possible to duck and jump them) and turn right. Go up the ladder at the end of the tunnel and you will find 1 gas grenade on the ledge as well as 1 bioelectric cell on the pipe. Now leave the sewer the same way you just entered.

Find the other sewer entrance which is near the rear entrance to the Underworld Tavern and go down through the hatch.

NYC - New York Sewers

Cross the bridge to receive 60 skill points. Ignore all the crates here - you don’t need their contents. Go down the ladder next to the security computer terminal (the one that takes you into the corridor below) and find the 6 rounds of 30.06 ammo which are lying behind a metal crate. That is all that you can do here in the sewers so get back topside.

NYC - Hell’s Kitchen

Temporarily drop your flamethrower somewhere on the ground (and remember where you put it!). Now go through the archway which used to be blocked off last time you visited Hell’s Kitchen. Keep going to the end of the tunnel and then turn left. Ignore all the crates and boxes. Get past the UNATCO trooper and turn to the right.

NYC - 20th Street Warehouse

There are two large blue skips in this area. The second one you come to has 4 rubbish bags to the right of it. If you throw these out of the way you will find a datacube hidden behind them. Keep going around the warehouse until you find the ramp up the side (you will find that this is very similar to the warehouse from ‘The Warehouse District’ part of the game - but still different in a few ways). At the top of a ramp there are 2 crates. One of them contains 6 rounds of 30.06 ammo. At the moment you don’t have a melee weapon to open the crate with, so instead just throw them both over the edge to the ground below where they will break open.

If you don’t have a weapon such as the combat knife with which to open crates, or similar items, there are many other ways to do this without using ammo. You can throw the crate from somewhere high up. You could throw something onto the crate from a height (indeed this could be yourself - you can jump on the crate to open it). You can carry the crate to a burning barrel and place it next to it. This will set the crate on fire and in a moment it will break open. (N.B. you should avoid standing next to these burning barrels yourself because they also do damage to you).

Get down to the ground again and enter the warehouse through the main door (the one currently surrounded by lots of UNATCO troopers). The only item you want to collect from the ground floor is a nanokey which is in one of the cubicles in the ladies’ restroom. Head up to level 3 and go through the door which is straight ahead of you. Look at the datacube on the table and follow its advice by pressing the button on the wall in the far right corner of the room before going through the door with a danger sign next to it. Get past the maze of computer equipment in this next room until you find the security computer terminal. You will get 30 skill points for finding it. Use it to open the door and switch off the camera. Get back down to level 1 and find the door that you just opened. Climb down the ladder and you will get 50 skill points. Go through the door to the basement in front of you. Pick up the crowbar from the table and then go through the door to the right. There are many lasers here, but you will notice that there is a small hole in the wall on the left just before the stack of metal crates. It is possible to run through the lasers and crawl into the hole before the turrets have a chance to shoot you. Don’t worry if you can’t manage it without getting shot though because there is a medical bot and a repair bot back in the warehouse. Crawl to the end of the tunnel and come out into the corridor again when the alarm has stopped. Go through the next door.

Ignore the crates and go through the door on the right. Use the small boxes here to block off the lasers like you have done in the past. Start by blocking the first laser with a box and waiting for the alarm to stop. Then, while crouching, carry a second box under that laser and towards the last one round the corner. When you drop this box in place immediately retreat to the safety hole in the wall in between these two lasers. Wait for the alarm to end. Then run back through the first laser and out to safety again and wait for the alarm to end. Now you have created a safe passage through the corridor:

Unfortunately the door at the end is locked. To open it you should go back to the last room and take one of the TNT crates. Carry it under the lasers until you are facing the locked door. Now throw the TNT crate towards the door and immediately run through the lasers on the right to take cover in the alcove in the wall. Ideally the explosion will not harm you at all, but the door will be destroyed and lasers in front of you and to the left will have been deactivated due to the explosion and also one of the turrets will have been destroyed. It doesn’t actually matter if the lasers and the turret are all still present. Go through the door that was destroyed (if you have to go through some lasers and the turret is still there then you will need to run!). The next room contains 4 TNT crates and 2 barrels which are leaking gas. Move the TNT crates to safety (carry them through the next section of corridor and place them in front of the first set of lasers). Go back to pick up the last TNT crate from the previous room and then return to this room carrying the TNT. Now throw this TNT crate towards the barrels of gas while standing just outside the room (in the corridor). As soon as you have thrown it, step to the right so that the doorframe is protecting you from the blast of the explosion. The barrels will release lots of gas so retreat further into the corridor until the gas has dispersed. You can now access the storage cupboard in the room without worrying about the gas. Take 1 EMP grenade from one of the crates and 4 white-phosphorous rocket rounds which are on the floor. Now return to where you put the next 4 TNT crates and move them back into the room you just cleared. These crates can be used in a similar way to clear the path ahead of you. I recommend taking the first one and standing just in front of the left side of the first set of lasers:

Then throw it forwards through the lasers, stepping to the left for cover. This explosion should be able to deactivate the first two sets of laser, destroy the first turret, destroy the metal door that was on your left as well as the other door in the room through the passage to the left and open the cabinet in that room and perhaps the cabinet in the room beyond that too. This is all you need to get through this part of the level. However don’t worry if you didn’t destroy that much stuff with this first explosion. You still have 3 TNT crates left and if necessary you can use them all up just blowing up these items that I mentioned. Now enter the room containing the first cabinet (it is the one which has a datacube on the top of the cabinet and a datacube inside the cabinet as well). You get 150 skill points for finding the first datacube. There is also 1 gas grenade here and an accuracy weapon modification which you should use to improve your sniper rifle. The cabinet in the next room has 2 bioelectric cells inside, but you should already have 30 of them. Go up the stairs leading out of this room, press the switch by the door and then find yourself outside the warehouse again.

Enter the warehouse and climb all the way up to the roof. Go inside the room located on the roof and access the personal computer terminal there. Rotate all the dishes and open the door. Go through to the next room and access this personal computer terminal as well. Broadcast the message. This gets you 300 skill points. You will now be told by Simons that the UNATCO troopers have become your enemies and that they will try to kill you. Basically you must now kill all the UNATCO troopers in and around the warehouse. You have just run through the warehouse and so you should know the layout. Remember that there is a medical bot on level 3 and a repair bot on level 1. Begin by working your way down the levels inside the building, then go outside and deal with the troopers there (and don’t forget the one that was on the platform reached via the ramp outside!) All in all you should kill 15 UNATCO troopers. You will be able to take 1 combat knife from one of them and also they will provide you with assault rifles, but don’t bother picking up the assault rifles, in fact once you get the combat knife you can also drop your crowbar. Pick up one of the remaining TNT crates (there were a few on level 4 and level 1) and carry it with you as you go back to Hell’s Kitchen.

NYC - Hell’s Kitchen

You will have to kill one more UNATCO trooper on the way - the one standing by a road block. Make your way through the tunnel and collect the flamethrower you had dropped earlier. Go to Smuggler’s using the lift (you should still be carrying the TNT crate).

NYC - Smuggler’s Lair

Walk straight through the blue lasers and enter Smuggler’s room. You will get 20 skill points here. Go upstairs and throw the TNT crate towards the mirror on the wall, taking cover to make sure you don’t lose any health in the explosion. Inside you will find a recoil weapon modification and a clip weapon modification. Apply the recoil modification to your pistol and the clip improvement to your sniper rifle. Speak to Smuggler and buy the range weapon modification for 2400 credits as well as the clip weapon modification for 1500 credits. The clip modification should be used on your pistol and the range modification on your sniper rifle. Take the lift back out of Smuggler’s Lair.

Enter the ‘Ton via the main entrance.

NYC - ‘Ton Hotel

Hack the ATM when you reach it. You can withdraw 600 credits. Continue through into the foyer and you will hear Sandra Renton talking to her father in the hotel reception. Talk to Gilbert Renton, but don’t give him your pistol. JoJo will come down the stairs and start talking to Sandra. When JoJo draws his stealth pistol, kill him. Now speak to Gilbert Renton again. Sandra will say that she is leaving and will run towards the hotel exit (if she is currently in a panic mode she will run to the exit after she has calmed down). She will disappear as soon as you turn your back on her. But don’t worry - at least you know she isn’t here to get caught in the crossfire during the raid that is coming up. Take the weapon modification from the table in the reception area. Go to the lift shaft and climb the ladder right to the top. There is an accuracy 1 gas grenade on the ledge for you. Apply it to your pistol. Now enter Paul’s apartment (you can use your nanokey to get in). Speak to Paul and then go into the secret area in his room. Press the switch to close the doors, locking yourself inside. The raid will begin and Paul will deal with the first set of enemies who storm the room (these are 3 men in black and 3 UNATCO troopers). When you can’t hear any more fighting press the switch again. Paul should still be in his apartment. Leave the apartment through the door and Paul will follow you. He will then start to kill the other 14 UNATCO troopers that have occupied the rest of the hotel. A useful tip here: if you let Paul get out of your sight for a few seconds he will have disappeared when you try to find him (he won’t have died though) meaning you will have to deal with the rest of the enemies yourself. So keep him in your sights and he will deal with all of them for you (you may need to help once or twice). He will eventually stop by the front door:

When you search the bodies all you will find is 9 +/- 9 rounds of 30.06 ammo. At this point you have a choice: whether to leave the ‘Ton via the front door or through the window in Paul’s apartment. Leaving through the front door ensures that Paul will still be alive during the rest of the game, and going through the window will result in him being accounted for as dead later on. So usually I would say leave through the front door. However (possibly due to a bug) you can get an extra 500 skill points later in the game only if Paul is dead at the time. Therefore in keeping with the aim of getting as many skill points as possible, I suggest that you should leave through the window. If you strongly believe that the extra skill points are a bug and you don’t want to take advantage of it, then you may prefer to leave through the front door. Not much will essentially change in the game whichever you decide to do (except the 500 skill points), but for the purpose of this walkthrough I will assume you go through the window.

NYC - Hell’s Kitchen

Outside there are another 9 UNATCO troopers. Kill all of them. There are also 2 security bots, just avoid these for the moment. After you have dealt with the troopers, head back to the 20th Street Warehouse to restock on health from the medical bot (if necessary).

There should still be plenty of TNT crates lying around either in the warehouse or in the basement where you found the datacubes. Collect one of the TNT crates and take it back to where the nearest security bot is on patrol.

NYC - Hell’s Kitchen

Throw the TNT at the bot to destroy it, don’t worry if you lose health because you always have the medical bot to return to.

NYC - 20th Street Warehouse

Go back to pick up one last crate of TNT.

NYC - Hell’s Kitchen

Use it to take out the last remaining security bot. Stock up on health again if necessary and then get to the subway entrance. You can open it with the code that Paul gave you. You should get 50 skill points after Jock sends you his next message. Hack the ATM in the subway station to withdraw 562 credits and then board the train.

NYC - Battery Park

Go up the steps and you will get 50 skill points once you reach the top. Gunther Hermann then comes to speak to you. You should choose the option to surrender (Gunther is invulnerable here so it is a waste of effort trying to fight him. Also they want to capture you, not kill you, so the crosshair is green over all the UNATCO forces currently.
